We built these lamps for one reason: raw, deep-penetrating heat. Instead of the usual quartz halogen setup, we used a carbon fiber filament inside a quartz tube. It changes the way the heat hits your target, pushing it deeper than a standard heater ever could. Let’s talk power. At 2000W and 220V, you’re looking at about 9.1 amps per lamp. That sounds fine for one, but if you’re wiring up a bank of ten, you’re suddenly pulling over 90 amps. Here’s the thing: a lot of people forget about that initial spike when the power kicks in. Make sure your wiring and contactors can actually handle the load. If you cut corners here, you’re just asking for your terminals to burn out. Why carbon fiber? Carbon fiber handles heat expansion way better than tungsten. The result? It ramps up fast. Like, really fast. You get heat almost the second you flip the switch. But there’s a catch. These tubes are a bit more fragile than metal ones. They can’t take a beating during installation. Also,**wear gloves.**If your skin oils get on the quartz, they create these little hot spots that can make the glass crack. Not a great way to start the day. Putting them to work These are perfect for drying, curing, or PET blowing—basically anywhere you need a massive hit of surface heat. But since they put out so much energy, you’ve got to give them room to breathe. If your housing doesn’t have good ventilation and the heat gets trapped around the lamp ends, you’ll fry your sockets. If you’re swapping these into an old halogen system, just keep in mind that the heat feels different. Carbon fiber leans more toward long-wave IR. If you’re working with thin films and need surgical precision, these might run a bit hot. Just keep a close eye on your PID controllers during that first run to make sure everything stays where it should.
