
Let’s talk about 1000W Carbon Fiber FIR Tubes
We built these heating lamps to do one thing really well: push focused, far-infrared (FIR) heat exactly where you need it. Most old-school quartz heaters use a metal coil, but we swapped that out for a carbon fiber filament. It changes everything about how the heat actually hits your project. Instead of just scorching the surface, the longer wavelengths sink deeper into the material. It’s a much more thorough kind of heat. The power side of things At 1000W, these things hit hard and hit fast. The best part? There’s almost no waiting around. The carbon fiber element jumps to temperature nearly instantly, so you aren’t wasting energy just trying to get the machine warmed up. Just a heads-up: if you’re packing a bunch of these into one array, keep a close eye on your power supply. 1000W per tube adds up fast. Make sure your control panel can handle the total load, or you’ll be spending your afternoon resetting tripped breakers. The build We tucked the carbon fiber core inside a high-purity quartz glass tube. This keeps the filament from oxidizing while letting those FIR waves slide right through without losing their punch. The filament itself is a beast. It handles rapid on-and-off cycling way better than nichrome wire. It can take a beating. But—and this is a big but—the quartz glass is fragile. Be careful during installation. One slip or a clumsy move can crack the tube, and if that happens, the filament burns out immediately. Handle them with care. Putting them to work These are perfect for drying tunnels, curing ovens, or PET blowing. If you’ve got older, clunkier lamps, these usually slide right into the same spot. Because FIR heat goes straight into the product rather than heating up all the air in the room, you can actually keep your ambient temperature lower. It’s just more efficient. One last tip: these create some intense localized heat. You’ll want to dial in your conveyor speed just right so you don’t accidentally cook your substrate.
