The “Gotchas” (and how to handle them)
Now, you can’t just plug these in and walk away. To get this kind of power, we push a lot of density into those tubes. On a high-volume line, you’ll want high-voltage setups so you aren’t pulling massive amounts of current across long banks of heaters. And please,don’t skimp on the cooling. These lamps get incredibly hot at the terminals. If your ventilation isn’t set up to pull that heat away from the reflectors, you’re going to warp your housing or—even worse—fry your wiring. It’s a powerful system, so you have to treat it with respect.
Putting it to work on your line
Switching over is pretty straightforward. You basically swap out your air-heating zones for IR banks.
