The Deal with Quartz
Quartz is the old reliable. We use high-purity glass because it can take a beating—rapidly heating up and cooling down without cracking or getting cloudy. It’s powerful. Really powerful. If you need a massive hit of heat density, quartz is your best bet. Just a heads-up: because it gets so hot, you can’t skimp on your venting. If your housing traps too much heat, the glass can actually fail.
Why Go Carbon Fiber?
Carbon fiber is a different beast. Instead of a tungsten wire, it uses a carbon element. I usually recommend these for plastic ovens. Why? Because the heat is more uniform.
