
Why We Went With the M-Shape Carbon Fiber Lamp
When we sat down to design this heating lamp, we had one main problem: how do you cram as much heat as possible into a tiny space? The answer was the M-shape. Instead of just running a straight line, we folded the heating element. It’s a simple tweak, but it basically doubles the heat density. This means you get way more power out of a much shorter tube. The heat is fast. We use shortwave infrared radiation because it doesn’t just sit on the surface—it punches right through to the product. Plus, that M-shape does a great job of spreading the heat evenly across the bed. No more annoying cold spots or uneven roasts. If you’re running a high-wattage setup, you’ll notice you hit your target temperature in seconds. It’s nearly instant. But here’s a tip: keep your reflectors clean. If they’re pitted or dirty, you’re basically throwing away a huge chunk of that energy. Talking materials To keep the carbon fiber from burning out, we sealed it inside a high-purity quartz envelope. Now, folding the filament into an “M” puts a bit more stress on the glass when it heats up and expands. We fixed that by dialing in the wall thickness of the tube so it doesn’t crack under pressure. As for the connections, we kept them standard. They should slide right into most roaster frames without any fuss, and they’re built to handle high current without melting your housing. A few things to watch out for Look, these lamps are aggressive. They put out a ton of heat, which is great for production, but it’s tough on the hardware. Make sure your mounting brackets can actually handle the temperature. And please, check your ventilation. If the air isn’t moving, that heat soak will eventually eat through your wiring insulation. It’s a powerful tool, you just have to make sure your setup can keep up with it.
